The first few weeks at school have been so much fun! We have learned a lot about one another working on "About Me" projects. Below are a few pictures from our "About Me Bag" sharing.

We have also been getting into our math and reading workshop where we have mini-lessons covering specific standards and then we go to stations to support math and reading. You'll see some pictures of some different stations we started off with just to get our toes wet.

It is back to school time!! I hope everyone enjoyed their summer! This blog will help me share with you all of the wonderful things our class is doing this year. There will also be helpful links for parents to use to gain more knowledge about our standards and learning expectations.  Please share the address with your child's family member's so they can share in the experience even from afar.  I look forward to a wonderful year!  -Mrs. Collins

The apple tasting party was a hit of course, just because we had so many different options for the students to try.

They were honestly unsure how the "Blubber Glove" would withstand the cold water, but it did end up protecting their hands from the cold water.  Students can be found playing a very traditional game that parents may remember as "War", but is now called "Top It". during this game students compare numbers 0-19. We used various decks to differentiate for different levels of learning. Another favorite game during the last two months has been Race to 50 or Race to 100. Students develop a greater unders...
