Around the Holidays we don't let up on the academic work. Here are a few pictures of our stations, lessons, and activities.

 Our School Participated in a Veteran's Day Assembly. Our class was part of the decorating committee and did a wonderful job!

Here we are learning about turkeys in our Scholastic Readers. Our PTA fundraising helps purchase these each year. 

Speaking of fundraising our class has won twice in a row for participation on Chick-fil-a night.

After learning about the Mayflower students engaged in a STEAM project where they had to develop a boat that floated. 

Another STEAM activity that students worked on was making a bridge for the gingerbread 


 Once students completed thier bridges we participated in a gallery walk to share and discuss our different bridges. 
Our Holiday Performance was a delight! The students did a fantastic job!

We have been so busy here at school finishing up our apple unit. The students really loved all the food activities and I appreciate all of your support with the various apple donations. It was so sweet to see them make their apple pies and write the book to go with it. The apple tasting party was a hit of course, just because we had so many different options for the students to try. 

Catching Up

Happy To Be Back  I am happy to be back on here sharing all of the fabulous things we have been doing the last two months.  Here students are working on subitizing with teen numbers. Whichever number they spun they had to find it on their paper in tally form, on a ten frame, using ten rods and ones, etc. Below are some pictures from a day that they explored blubber as a way that many polar animals keep warm. They were honestly unsure how the "Blubber Glove" would withstand the cold water, but it did end up protecting their hands from the cold water.  Students can be found playing a very traditional game that parents may remember as "War", but is now called "Top It". during this game students compare numbers 0-19.
